Focused on minimizing our footprint, we have adopted an environmental responsibility policy aiming at a sustainable path of growth in the long term, as well as spurring the environmental awareness in both guests and employees.
We support community activities and initiatives, carring on local environmental and cultural projects. We respect our precious natural resources, operating in a way that contributes to its preservation and conservation. Our aim is to inspire future generations to cherish the natural environment as well as cultural heritage and lay the foundations to preserve them for their own wellbeing.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
As part of this effort, Ventoura Studios & Apartments has adopted the following strict environmental policy;
1. Cleaning methods to save water.
2. Low-energy consumption devices.
3. Annual maintenance check on our “inverter” type air conditioners.
4. Encourage our guests to use the fan instead of the air conditioning.
5. Our staff is always careful to switch off the appliances from the main switch (ON / OFF and not by the remote control, ie stand-by).
6. New generation low-power light bulbs, which provide 8-15 times longer life than ordinary bulbs and consume 4-5 times less energy and outdoors light switch timers.
7. “Smart” power switches card activated to avoid the use of electricity when our guests are not in the room.
8. 5KW photovoltaic system installed on roof of the building.
9. Desalination and purification system for the water we use from our well.
10. Toilet flashes with turbofan water mechanism.
11. Collect rainwater in underground tanks of 150 m³ for watering purposes.
12. Shower heads and water spray taps with air rates, saving 12 and 65 liters per day. The water runs in air rates, reducing water consumption.
13. Keep 3 recycle bins for paper, plastic and glass in public areas. Inform our guests about the benefits of recycling.
14. Rooms’ linens are changed every three days in order to save water and energy.
15. Solar heaters (boilers) to ensure economy by reducing electricity consumption and prevent the release dozens of tons of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
16. Using cleaning and personal hygiene products which contain no ingredients listed on the Green Key Program and they are certified (Eco Label).
Our commitment that our premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education is represented by our ecolabels. The high environmental standards expected of Ventoura Studios and Apartments are maintained through rigorous documentation and frequent audits.
Our efforts have been awarded in 2014 with the international environmental awards Green Key, Green Leaders and TripAdvisor’s Platinum Level.
